About Shannon Ruth
For over 30 years, I battled irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a condition that, despite its commonality, I found was more than just a benign inconvenience. My career as a physician assistant in gastroenterology reinforced the notion that IBS was something to live with, not something to overcome. However, I discovered that this perspective was far from the truth.
After 15 years working as a PA, I faced a personal health crisis that mirrored the very struggles I had witnessed in my patients. Chronic stress from my demanding job led to hypothyroidism, weight gain, and a worsening of my IBS symptoms to the point where I no longer recognized myself in the mirror. It was a wake-up call that compelled me to rethink everything I knew about health and wellness.
Determined to reclaim my life, I embarked on a transformative journey. I adopted a healthier lifestyle, identified my IBS triggers, and experienced a profound and rapid resolution of my symptoms. The remarkable change in my well-being fueled a new mission: to help others achieve the same freedom from IBS.
As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I now channel my experience and expertise into guiding others through their own journeys to better health. I understand the frustration of living with IBS and the relief that comes with overcoming it.
