About Your Coach

Hello, I'm Shannon Ruth,

My mission is to guide women through the often challenging journey of managing irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), achieving sustainable weight loss, and reclaiming their energy. My goal is simple: to help you live your best life.

With a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and  Exercise Physiology and as a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I bring a unique blend of medical knowledge. My journey in this field is not just professional; it's deeply personal.

For 15 years, I worked as a Physician Assistant, a role that, while fulfilling, brought its own set of challenges. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed by stress, struggle with weight issues, and suffer from the debilitating effects of IBS. Like many of you, I was tired of feeling tired, constantly battling my symptoms, and not recognizing myself in the mirror.

As a woman, I understand the unique challenges we face in managing our health. As a professional, I'm equipped with the tools and knowledge to guide you through them.

My Story

My career as a Physician Assistant, balancing a demanding job with raising two young children, took a toll on my health. I found myself in a cycle of stress, exhaustion, and unhealthy eating, which led to significant weight gain and IBS symptoms. Despite being an athlete, my attempts at managing my weight through running were unsuccessful, and my overall well-being deteriorated.

A career shift, which required me to be on call at all hours, further impacted my health, leading to memory issues, concentration difficulties, and depression. This was a wake-up call for me. I realized the need for a drastic change in my lifestyle.

By revamping our family's eating habits, eliminating junk food, and addressing my IBS, we not only improved my health but also resolved other family health issues like asthma and heartburn. My newfound love for mountain biking, along with becoming a certified high school mountain bike coach and a racer, marked a significant turn in my life.

This personal transformation was the catalyst for me to become a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I am now committed to sharing my experience and strategies with other women, helping them to successfully manage their IBS and achieve their weight loss goals.

Living in Evergreen, Colorado, with my husband and two teenage children, I'm constantly reminded of the beauty and possibility that life holds. I want to help you see and experience this in your own life.
